Happy Evie

Lately Evie's started smiling...A LOT. I of course think it's the cutest thing ever.

Doesn't she look like she's plotting something?!?

We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Atlanta where Evie got to see both grandparents again as well as meet some of her aunts and uncles! Thanks to Elisha we have our first family picture. It's hard to believe a month's gone by and this was our first picture as a family!

Thanks to her Aunt Erin she had an adorable flower for her hair!

I can't believe Evie's already a month old! It's kinda sad how fast she's growing up but exciting to see what new things she'll do. It's been an adjustment but this was the best career change ever! I really love being a mom and love Evie more everyday. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives and to be parents to the most wonderful and beautiful little girl!

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Like me, Evie is a very deep sleeper and sometimes it can be a little difficult to feed her if she's tired.

Happy Halloween!

We finally got to bring Evie home and she is all healthy! We had a quiet Halloween if you couldn't tell from Evie's rather bored expression! Here are some pictures of us coming home. It might seem excessive that we have so many, but you have to understand how excited we were to not be going back and forth from home to the hospital anymore!

Holding her in the hospital while they got our discharge papers together!

Happy mom

A Little Awake Time

Evelyn appears to be much like me- she would rather sleep than eat. However, we were so excited that tonight she really woke up after we fed her and got some pictures of her with her eyes open! She is doing really really well and the doctor is very pleased with her progress. Her x-rays showed no infection and she has actually even gained a little weight! Thanks everyone for the visits, well wishes, prayers and support...we have definitely felt very blessed during this wonderful but trying time!

She was a little milk drunk.

There's lots of pictures of her and dad since I still look like a new mom without sleep. More pictures to come!

Introducing the newest Roberts

After 21 hours of labor I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (if I do say so myself). Evelyn Jane Roberts was born at 1:56 am on Monday October 26th and we couldn't be more thrilled! It's so fun to see Ben fussing over his baby girl and we're so excited to be parents!

Unfortunately she had swallowed some meconium so she has to stay in the special care nursery for a while so we haven't really gotten to hold her or anything but we're praying things will get worked out and we'll get to take her home with us when we're discharged. Here are a few quick pictures, more to come!

This was obviously before I started pushing and after my epidural...if you couldn't tell.

Seriously, how awesome is this hair!?!?

Our sweet little princess. They have to keep her on oxygen until they get all the meconium out.

Baby's Nursery

So it took forever to post these but in the waiting process I finally found time to take some pictures of the nursery.

We found this rocking chair at Goodwill and fixed it up. I love the green woodgrain fabric!

Here I am at about 39 weeks pregnant

And finally here I am a few days ago at 40 weeks and a few days pregnant. Notice how I didn't even bother to get off the couch for this one. Also notice how the dogs have gotten used to the new routine (laying on the couch all day long).

So as of today I am 40 weeks and 5 days pregnant but i'm ecstatic to announce that the end is finally in sight! I saw a different midwife last Wednesday and she has decided to begin the induction process on Monday night and I should have our little peanut on Tuesday! Pregnancy has been wonderful really up until the last few days but I'm ready for it to end and to start this next chapter in our lives.

We'll keep ya posted! Stay tuned!

Sausage Feet

So my feet have been swelling the last couple months of my pregnancy, but I didn't really think much of it because I was still working and on my feet the whole time at work. The last two weeks they've gotten even bigger and they look like sausages. I know it's gross, but I'm also fascinated by it! I've also started swelling clear up to my knees, but I can't complain because I know that means i'm getting closer! It's crazy to think we could really have a baby any day now.

My foot compared to Ben's. I feel like a beast.

Ben has started asking my belly in the mornings if this is going to be the day. He also gives peanut a good time frame that would get him out of a class he doesn't want to attend. Whether or not peanut will actually take that into account remains to be seen.

Also my mom threw me an amazing baby shower a few weeks back and I just had to throw a few pictures on here because it was so cute and so much fun! We had such an awesome turn out and so many people did such cute things especially considering they had to go gender neutral!

I would post some pictures of the cute things I got, but my mouth is open in every single picture and it looks like I'm just going to eat everything.

So here we go, halfway through week 39! Hopefully the next post will be that peanut's here!
